Industrial White Oil 7# is a colorless, transparent oily liquid, non-fluorescent. Odorless and tasteless when cold, with a slight petroleum-like odor when heated. Insoluble in water and ethanol, soluble in volatile oils, miscible with most non-volatile oils. Stable to light, heat, and acids, with high saturated hydrocarbon content and extremely low aromatic and sulfur levels.

Mainly used as a release agent, softener, and lubricant in plastics — suitable for light-colored and bright products (plastic housings, rubber goods, craft articles, etc.). Also used in textile lubrication, rubber filling, metalworking fluids, polishing compound carriers, and agricultural spray oil base stocks.
